When our oldest daughter moved out, we did the bedroom shuffle. Brianna did not want to leave her room, so Madison jumped at the chance. I looked and looked for the before pictures of the room with no luck. I was so confident that I had them on file so I did not take any pictures before the paint went on. Ugh!
Let’s just say the room was painted in Fuchsia. The color scheme was Fuchsia with black and white throughout. Stephanie is a very upbeat social butterfly therefore the bright color suited her personality. Madison, on the other hand, is more subdued than her sister was at the ripe old age of thirteen. She wanted a “quieter” room so she decided to go with Mint and Gold.
She loves it! It fits her personality. Accessories and wall decor are also minimal.
The bird canvas and mirror I bought at Hobby Lobby (with coupons of course). The letter “M” was a chevron fail. Luckily, it’s nothing another coat of paint can’t handle. The sunburst was black and sprayed in gold. I covered the mirror with scrapbook paper. The curtains are from IKEA and the bedspread from Sam’s Club.
The real pride and joy of this room is my daughter’s jewelry holder she did all on her own. She used some old plates and a candleholder we had laying around. She is one that enjoys creating and decorating.
There is only one dilemma in this room, do we paint the furniture white or leave it alone? The bedroom set is real knotty-alder wood. What would you do?
